It is my pleasure to share with you the 11 finalists for the first-ever edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning!
During the 2015 Global Forum last November, we announced the edX Prize as an annual award to celebrate the contributions and innovations of MOOC teachers in the edX community, and to amplify the powerful role that MOOCs play in the transformation of education today.
Over the course of the nominations period, we were thrilled to received a number of submissions from member institutions across our global consortium. The nominations were reviewed by an evaluation committee, comprised of faculty, instructional designers, college deans, and online learning directors from edX partner institutions. The wide breadth of the committee’s expertise ensured that nominees were evaluated across all aspects of higher education and online learning.
The committee initially set out to select ten finalists, but based on the high caliber of the submissions, they settled on 11 excellent finalists. Finalists and the courses they teach on edX are included below.
The edX University Advisory Board will evaluate the 11 finalists and select a winner, who will be announced on the last day of the edX Global Forum, taking place in November and hosted by Sorbonne University.
While only 11 nominees have made the list, the edX Prize celebrates all the inspiring teachers on edX.org. Please join me in congratulating the finalists!
